What this is
1830 is an economic railway game in which players buy shares, direct companies, lay track, and run trains across the northeastern United States. Stock rounds alternate with operating rounds, creating opportunities to raise company values, profit from another president's work, or dump a failing railway onto an opponent. The winner is the player with the greatest personal wealth in cash and shares, not necessarily the person running the strongest railroad.
